Well, Chandler and I have started our lives in Mukono, Uganda.
What does that mean exactly? I don’t really have a good answer to that, but we are trying to figure that out daily. We are living with in the same house, in the same room, we lived in on the race.
Our room is basically our own little apartment, with a bathroom, workout area and a clothes dryer.
When Chandler and I were here on the WorldRace we worked with both the school and church. Our days were filled from the beginning of the month with teaching classes in school, to preaching, door to door evangelism and whatever else needed to be done that month. Coming back here has been an adjustment from that. We are processing and planning what it means to be here long-term and how we can best work with them.
Seeing Pastor Joseph, the teachers and the kids at the school this week was so great. As we walked by the building you could hear them saying our names. For quite a few, my name has become Betha or Bethin (Bethany is a bit too difficult:)
Even if we are still trying to adjust and figure out what’s going on, that’s okay.
I know I am supposed to be here.
Seeing these kids and being being greeted by the community has only affirmed our being here and the joy I feel.
